The Lycée Rochambeau officially opened its third campus in Bethesda, Maryland, with an inauguration on November 15th. The new campus is home to the Pre-school and is located on Bradley Boulevard.

Inauguration day started in the afternoon when the Pre-school's 146 children sang songs for Mme. Bujon de L'Estang, wife of the Ambassador of France, and then released 50 golden balloons.

That evening, the opening was celebrated at a reception attended by his Excellency, François Bujon de L'Estang, the French Ambasador, Bruce Romer, Montgomery County Chief Administrative Officer and Howard Denis, Bethesda's representtive on the Montgomery County Council.

The Lycée Rochambeau, the largest French school in the United States and the largest non-denominational independent school in the Washington metropolitan area, enrolls more than 1100 students. Among these are a large number of American families who take advantage of the Lycée's pre-school to immerse their youngsters in French language, education and culture. Approximately 43 % of enrolled students are French, 20% American, 3 % Canadian and the remaining 34% come from 47 other nations.

Located in Montgomery County since 1960, the Lycée offers students the opportunity to benefit from a rigorous and complete academic program leading from Petite Section Maternelle to the Baccalauréat.
