10:00 a.m.: House of the Seven Gables + birthplace of Nathaniel Hawthorne (The Scarlet Letter) (guided tours)
11:45 a.m.: Salem Witch Museum (guided tour + multi-media presentation)
1:00 – 2:30 p.m.: Free time + Lunch in Salem
3:30 – 5:30 p.m.: Boston Museum of Fine Arts: Impressions of Light Exhibit
Evening: Discovering Boston: Freedom Trail Walking Tour, Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall + Dinner on Newbury Street

Saturday, March 29th

8:00 – 8:45 a.m.: Breakfast
9:00 a.m.: Departure from hotel to go to Lexington and Concord
9:30 a.m.: Lexington: Minute Man Visitor Center (multi-media presentation on the first battles of the American Revolution)
10:30 a.m.: Minute Man Statue + Old North Bridge (Emerson’s Concord Hymn)
11:00 a.m.: Sleepy Hollow Cemetery (find the tombs of Emerson, Thoreau, Hawthorne)
12:00 p.m.: Concord Museum (contains personal effects of Emerson and Thoreau)
(guided tour on Concord and the Transcendentalists)
1:00 – 2:15 p.m.: Free time + Lunch in Concord
2:30 p.m.: Orchard House (Home of the Alcotts; Little Women) (guided tour)
3:30 – 5:45 p.m.: Thoreau’s cabin + Walden Pond (possible skating or hiking activities)
6:00 p.m.: Return to hotel + pack for tomorrow’s return to Washington
Evening: Dinner + Free time (suggestion: CambridgeSide Galleria)
