Construction Updates - July 22

Many, many big changes are taking place here at the Lycee during this hot month of July.  We no longer have any paved roads around the circle or near the Middle School!  A large variety of subcontractors are on campus, each working on their specific areas. For example the road crew is preparing the general area for new paving and curbs to be installed, underground plumbing lines are dug and connected, electrical and gas lines have also been dug and installed.  The basic infrastructure is in place now to connect all the utilities.

The high school building is approximately fifty percent complete.  The exterior brickwork covers about eighty percent of the building at this point.  Windows will be installed the week of August 8th.  Currently the middle section of the roof is being put in; the sheet covering of the arched section of the roof will be installed during the last week in July and first week in August.

Concrete has been poured and set for the two amphitheatres at the east and west ends of the building.  All ductwork is complete inside the building.  Interior walls are framed in on the lower and first levels and part of the third or upper level.  Once the roof is complete and windows in, then the actual walls will be installed and the interior work will proceed.

The underpinnings for the new gymnasium being added behind the middle school are completed.  The concrete foundation of the gym is being poured in early August.  The main focus of the work is on the high school in order to get approval for occupancy by mid October.  The gymnasium is projected for completion by January 2006.
