Middle School

The Rochambeau Middle School welcomes students out of elementary school, between 6th and 9th grade. A common core teaching over four successive levels for a period of one year each, is organized into three pedagogical cycles.

The cycles

The adaptation cycle: 6th grade

The 6th grade year act focuses on helping students with the transition from Elementary school to Middle school and strengthen fundamental achievements of primary school.

The central cycle, 7th and 8th grades

That cycle is allows students to deepen and expand their knowledge.

The orientation cycle, 9th grade

This final cycle completes the academic acquisitions of the students and prepares them to continue their education in High School.

Teaching languages

Special attention continues to be paid to teaching languages in Middle school:
  • A large selection of options: English or course but also Spanish, German or Arabic
  • A significant number of hours scheduled per week to provide results
  • An organization by groups of different levels
  • Small groups for increased participation and immersion
In 8th and 9th grades, an American Civilization class is taught in English for two hours a week, enabling Rochambeau to receive their US High School Diploma at the end of 11th grade.
