NEW ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PLANS FOR FOREST ROAD:

           
BUSES DROP OFF AND PICK UP STUDENTS AROUND THE MAIN CIRCLE.  
ALL CAR  PICK UP AND DROP OFF IS ON ACCESS ROAD

THIS PROCEDURE WILL BE CONTINUED FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2007 – 2008

We strongly encourage families to consider bus transportation to minimize car traffic in the neighborhood.  The Transportation Management Plan (TMP) requires that 50% of the students travel by bus.

In addition to hired security, we have seven to eight school personnel on arrival and dismissal duty each day.  Parents who pick up by car at Rollingwood and Forest Road are requested to remain in their cars at both arrival and dismissal to ensure the smooth flow of traffic. If you must get out of your car please   park in a lot/space and not in the car line. 

 

ARRIVAL
Students who arrive by car are dropped off at the shelter on Access Road. Cars will enter from Montgomery Road to Access road, drop off the children and proceed to Forest Road, turn left and depart.  There will be no access for cars dropping off students into the circle area from 7:50 am – 8:40 am.  Adult staff members are on duty at the shelter to greet students and ensure safety procedures.  A security guard is posted on Forest Road as required by the Transportation Management Plan (TMP).  Students walk via the sidewalk and path along Forest Road to the school buildings. 
Buses arrive beginning at approximately 8:00 am and proceed to the main circle, drop off the students and depart via Forest Road.

We request that parents remain in the car and have students ready to depart, with all bags in hand when they reach the shelter drop off area.  In this way the line of cars moves smoothly and we eliminate the back-up on Montgomery Drive.

DISMISSAL
The bus dismissal takes place around the circle. Buses arrive via Forest Road 20 to 30 minutes prior to departure. At 3:30 and at 5:30 PM all bus students leave the buildings and find their bus that is parked along the sidewalk around the circle.  They must board the bus and remain until all buses are ready to depart. (at approximately 3:40 and 5:40) Any faculty and staff parked in front of the administration and high school should remember that they cannot move their cars between 3:15 and 3:45 pm or 5:15 and 5:45 pm.
Traffic is stopped from entering Forest Rd at 3:15 and 5:15. NO CARS can enter for pick up.  Two security guards are on duty for the afternoon departure at 3:40 pm. One is on Montgomery Drive and Access Road and one is posted at Forest Road between Forest Place and Access Road.  French School staff assists car pool dismissal at the shelter.  Parents picking up by car must enter via Montgomery Road. onto Access road and queue as directed by the security guards. All students who depart by car meet parents at the shelter on Access Road. Cars leave from Access Road going left onto Forest Road and exit the property.

ALL drivers picking up students must meet them along Access Road; all students who ride cars must meet their cars at the Access Road shelter.
