70 Faces of Rochambeau

In honor of our 70th Anniversary, we are launching 70 Faces of Rochambeau, featuring 70 portraits of our students across both campuses that capture authentic, spontaneous moments from our community. Each portrait freezes this milestone year in time.

Inspired by our 2019 marketing campaign and Humans of New York, many of the photos are paired with short personal quotes. Students share their future aspirations, what they love most about Rochambeau, their favorite foods, most beloved animals, and more. This collection reminds us of the extraordinary diversity of backgrounds, personalities, and ideas that makes Rochambeau… well, Rochambeau.

We began the photoshoots early in the morning at our Maplewood Campus, where professional photographer, John Loomis, captured our primary students in the sewing room. A large photo screen stood against boxes of needles, scissors, and fabrics, a perfect symbol of the creativity and playfulness in the room. In the afternoon, we moved to the Forest Campus to meet athletes, student leaders, and aspiring artists and scientists, all eager to share some of the memories they had made at Rochambeau.

We hope you enjoy these portraits as much as we enjoyed bringing them to you! Stay tuned for the next series in February!
