Notre école secondaire a été bien animée par les célébrations du Mois du Patrimoine Hispanique, marquées par diverses activités en ce mois d'octobre, organisées par notre département d'espagnol, Mesdames Bedoya, Gorton, Rodriguez et Zapata.

La prestation du groupe de danse, Los Titanes Salseros, dans l'auditorium, a été un des moments marquants. Leur spectacle a beaucoup plu à nos élèves de 4ème et 6ème, qui ont été impressionnés par l’énergie et le talent des danseurs. Après le spectacle, les élèves ont été invités à danser eux-mêmes, créant ainsi un moment festif et convivial. Cette expérience a été très appréciée par tous et a laissé un souvenir mémorable.

La célébration s'est poursuivie dans les salles de classe d'espagnol. Les élèves de la 5e à la Première ont travaillé sur plusieurs projets intéressants.

Les élèves "Honors" de 5e ont exploré l'influence latine aux États-Unis, abordant des thèmes variés comme la nourriture, la musique, le sport, le cinéma et les célébrations culturelles. Après la présentation, la classe a pu déguster des alfajores et pan de bono préparés par les élèves. D'autres classes ont réalisé de superbes vidéos et présentations et posters mettant en valeur la richesse des cultures hispaniques, tout en décorant les couloirs du collège aux couleurs de l’Amérique latine.

Les groupes de 5e LCE ont préparé une chorégraphie énergique sur la chanson “Somos Latinos” (vidéo ci-dessous) et ont travaillé pendant un mois à l’élaboration de plats gastronomiques latinos, qu’ils ont ensuite présentés et partagés avec leurs camarades.

Les élèves de 4ᵉ Honors ont composé et interprété des chansons en Spanglish, désormais affichées dans les couloirs de l’école, témoignant de leur inventivité et de leur esprit bilingue.
Les classes de Seconde ont conçu et tourné un clip vidéo original célébrant la diversité et la créativité du monde hispanique.

Parallèlement, les élèves "Honors" de Premiere ont fait des recherches sur la portée mondiale des marques espagnoles, expliquant comment ces entreprises se sont étendues au-delà des frontières de l'Espagne, illustrant ainsi l'influence internationale de la culture espagnole.

Alors que le Mois du Patrimoine Hispanique se termine, nous sommes ravis de partager les travaux réalisés par nos élèves, exposés au collège et au lycée. Les affiches, peintures, poèmes et chansons ont été exposés dans les couloirs du collège et lycée. Ces projets reflètent l'intérêt et la participation de nos élèves à cette célébration culturelle. A Vibrant Celebration: Our School Honors Hispanic Heritage Month

Our Secondary school has been buzzing with energy as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with many activities organized by our Spanish Department, Mrs Bedoya, Gorton, Rodriguez and Zapata.

A major highlight was the stunning performance by the dance group, Los Titanes Salseros, in the auditorium. Their show captivated and excited our 8th and 6th graders, who were thrilled by the dancers' energy and talent. The celebration became truly interactive when students were invited to join in and dance, creating a lively, friendly atmosphere that left a lasting, joyful memory for everyone involved.

The celebration continued deeply within the classrooms. Spanish Students from 7th to 11th grades worked on several engaging projects.

The 7th grade Honors students explored the Latin influence in the United States, covering a variety of topics such as food, music, sports, cinema, and cultural celebrations. After the presentation, the class enjoyed alfajores and pan de bono prepared by the students. Other classes created wonderful videos, presentations, and posters highlighting the richness of Hispanic cultures, while decorating the school hallways with Latin American colors.

The 7th grade LCE class prepared an energetic choreography to the song “Somos Latinos” (video above) and spent a month developing Latin American gourmet dishes, which they then presented and shared with their classmates.

The 8th grade Honors students composed and performed songs in Spanglish, which are now displayed in the school hallways, showcasing their creativity and bilingual spirit.
The 10th grade classes designed and filmed an original video clip celebrating the diversity and creativity of the Hispanic world.

At the same time, the 11th grade Honors students researched the global reach of Spanish brands, explaining how these companies have expanded beyond Spain's borders, illustrating the international influence of Spanish culture.

As Hispanic Heritage Month draws to a close, we are proud to showcase the creative work our students produced. The Spanish Department organized an exhibition of posters, paintings, poems, and songs, reflecting our students’ enthusiasm and commitment to this cultural celebration. These projects were displayed throughout the middle and high school, and we are thrilled to share photos of their fantastic creations with our community. Thank you to our Spanish teachers & students!
