Open House

The open houses (in-person or virtual) are an excellent way to discover the curriculum and school environment. You will hear directors and teachers speak about their pedagogical methods and teaching projects. You will also hear from students and parents on the diversity of their experiences.

MAPLEWOOD CAMPUS - AGE 2 THROUGH 5TH GRADE

The Preschool or "Maternelle" welcomes 200 children starting as early as age 2 with 12 students in the 2-year old class to a maximum of 20 students in the other levels.

The Elementary school welcomes approximately of 450 students with a maximum of 20 students per class.

This campus also houses the administrative staff who support the campuses.

Access to the campus: all students ages 5+ must take the bus or shuttle to the campus. Parents with children under the age of 5 or have registered for the morning or extended after school program can drive into the campus.

FOREST ROAD CAMPUS - 6TH GRADE THROUGH 12TH GRADE

The Forest Road campus welcomes approximately 20 students per class from 6th grade to 12th grade.

Drop-off: starting at 8:00am

*Extended afternoon classes for some students in 8th - 12th grades until 5:30 pm. Schedule varies by student class options.

Detailed Forest Rd Campus Traffic and Transportation Information

ALL drivers must adhere to these regulations for dropping off or picking up children:

Be certain to conduct all drop-off and pick-up activities within the school gates within the Access Road parking lot or kiss-and-ride lanes. It is not permissible to drop off or pick up passengers on the adjacent streets (Beech Ave, Montgomery Drive, Forest Road, etc.) or other nearby schools (St. Jane de Chantal, BCDS, etc.).

To enter the Access Road area, all vehicles must enter only from Montgomery Drive and exit only onto Forest Road. (See the map below for route instructions) Drivers must be attentive to the one-way route in the Access Road parking area.

There is no exit onto Montgomery Drive from Access Road.

Drivers should use through streets and may not cut through the nearby Maplewood Park townhouse community in order to access the campus.

If there is a cue of vehicles on Montgomery Drive waiting to enter the Access Road lot, vehicles must not drive around stopped cars only to enter the parking area of the lot. All waiting vehicles must remain in line, on the right side of the street.

Out of respect for our neighbors, please do not block the driveways of nearby homes or cause damage to grass or landscaping by walking or driving on private property.

Please display your family's vehicle tag by hanging it on your rearview mirror. This is for your safety in order that we may clearly identify the vehicles for our community.

Only Rochambeau School Buses and staff members may use the drop-off lanes and parking area from the Forest Road entry point.

For students arriving by bicycle

We remind you that it is required by Maryland law for students to wear proper-fitting helmets. Cyclists must also follow the same traffic rules and regulations as motor vehicles, including following directions upon entering the Access Road parking area. Additionally, we require that cyclists dismount as they enter the Access Road area. This is to prevent collisions between cyclists and vehicles or pedestrians in this busy area.

These rules apply at all times and on all days, and not merely on weekdays during the "rush hour" times around 8:30 am, 3:30 pm or 5:30 pm. These procedures are designed to provide for a safe environment for our students and are also part of our Transport Management Agreement with our local neighborhood community.
