Alumni Spring Fling!

The Spring Fair wrapped up on a joyful note—it was wonderful to see students and parents enjoying themselves throughout the day. The Alumni Terrace truly came to life, offering a warm and inviting space that caught many eyes.

While turnout was modest, the conversations that did unfold were rich and meaningful. Highlights were connecting with the Zorome family who have two alums in their pocket--Iman made a guest appearance--and one more to go. Also, and Alumni Committee member Katie Taylor and her lovely family—they are a three generation Rochambeau family!

Honoring Enzo: A Heartfelt Tribute

On Friday, May 30th, the Rochambeau community gathered at the Forest Road campus to honor the life of Enzo Alvarenga Promo ’21. Executive Director Hélène Fabre opened with warm reflections on Enzo’s impact and how a personal bench tribute evolved into the Garden of Reflection.

His mother, Patricia Bibes, shared: “Enzo spent 15 years at Rochambeau... making friends, memories, and preparing for college. He would have graduated this past May 21st as a journalist at UMD… He had to work hard, but the result was what I had always hoped for: a well-rounded, multilingual global citizen.”

His father, Carlos Alvarenga, added: “It is fitting that a bench is his memorial… Enzo made the easy days nicer and helped us through the hard ones.”

Family including Enzo's brother, Dino, his stepmother, Dima Hammoud; close classmate Milo Soriano; and a host of other classmates, alumni, teachers and friends showed up. The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of a custom bench, designed by artist Julian Peterson, now placed in the Garden of Reflection—a lasting symbol of Enzo’s presence.

Alumni & Development Coordinator Vanéna Wilmot closed the event with heartfelt thanks: “By showing up and holding space, you are carrying Enzo’s spirit forward.” She shared how meaningful it was to bring this project to life alongside Mme. Bibes, expressed appreciation for Hélène’s support, and gave a special thanks to the Facilities Director, her right-hand throughout the journey.

Alumni Social

It happened! We gathered for an Alumni Social last December 18th at Corella Cafe & Lounge in Bethesda, MD, as we began a fresh start reconnecting the Rochambeau alumni community. We built connections, shared memories, and created new opportunities together! All alums were invited, whether they were with us for 1 or 10 years, or graduated elsewhere.
