Back to School meetings | Fall 2017

Personal parent-teacher meetings will be scheduled during the course of the school year.

Attendance is a very important part of your student's success. Regular attendance and punctuality is expected from all students.

In the case of an unforeseen absence or tardiness, parents should notify the school as early as possible:

Upon returning to school and for planned absences, the student should bring a note signed by the parents or legal guardian. Make sure to notify the Student Life Office (vie scolaire) or your child's teacher of an absence in advance.

Information and news are regularly sent via email through Rochambeau Headlines alerting you about recent posts. We also encourage you to follow us:

Volunteering | Class parents | PAR
• Class parents - parent relais and délégué

Parents can volunteer to be a classroom parent: parent relais in nursery and elementary school or parent délégué in middle and high school. Parents relais and parents délégués act as a liaison among and between the parents of the class they represent, teachers, school administration and PAR, Rochambeau’s Parent Association. They may be asked to help to look for volunteers or volunteer for events or PAR activities. In addition, in middle and high school they participate in the class councils "conseils de classe." PAR will organize meetings on each campus for appointed parents relais and parents délégués during the year (dates to be announced).  Please let your teacher or lead teacher know if you are interested in being a class parent

• Volunteer

Parents are encouraged to volunteer and engage in the life of the school. Without the volunteer efforts of our parents, there are many projects the school would not be able to undertake. We encourage all parents to offer each year a few hours (or more) of volunteering. There are numerous opportunities for interested parents. Please check the headlines for registration and sign-ups during the year.

• Rochambeau Parent Association : PAR.

PAR is the school’s parent association. PAR serves as an important liaison between the parents and the school administration, namely via the network of room parents (parents relais and parents délégués) who will be selected at the first parent teacher meeting of the year. PAR organizes several committees and events during the year. It provides services to parents such as the yearbook, the sale and distribution of sandwiches and lunches and a 15% reduction at the YMCA. Finally, PAR contributes financially to certain school projects and will launch this year a new program to finance teachers’ projects. For more information and to get involved, please contact PAR at
