During the course of the year information will be posted and/or updated on your parent portal. To access your portal, click on "community login" on the top right corner of the page. If you did not receive your login codes: Contact IT

When and where to go on the first day

Class lists are posted on the parent portal the day prior to the first day of school at 1pm. They will also be posted on the morning of the 1st day on each campus.

Students taking the bus on the first day of school will be welcomed on all campuses when the bus arrives.

*The schools open at their regular times if you cannot bring your child to the recommended start time: Maternelle Bradley campus: 8:30am; Rollingwood and Forest campuses: 8:00am.

What to bring to school on the 1st day

All students need to bring their lunch on the first day of school. Be sure that your child's lunch is free of nuts or nut products. The use of microwave ovens is available only for Middle and High school students; all other grade levels may bring a warm meal in a thermos container.

CP-CM2 /1st -5th 

School bag, pencil kit, and lunch box.  School books and notebooks will be distributed on the first day of school in the classrooms


6ème/ 6th 

Bring agenda, a notebook. pen or pencil, and your lunch.  Books and school supplies are not required for the first day. Students will be united by class groups and will meet with their head teacher (professeur principal) and the Vie Scolaire (Student services) from 8:20 am- 11:30am. After lunch (12:30), they will start their class schedule.


5ème – T

7th – 12th

Bring agenda, a notebook, pen or pencil and your lunch.  Books and school supplies are not required for the first day. Students will meet in the classroom with their head teacher (professeur principal) from 8:25 am to 10:20 am. Classes will begin at 10:40 am.

Dismissal on the first day

School will be dismissed at 3:30 pm for all students. There is no study hall or after school care on the 1st day of school.

There will not be a late bus on the 1st day of school.

MEDICAL requirements

New families

A doctor's visit and up to date immunizations according to Maryland State law are mandatory for all new students.  Please submit all completed forms online before the 1st day of school.  Information

Returning students

You child must be in compliance with Maryland school regulations to start school.

Students may not attend school without the proper medical forms.

Club Rochambeau and afterschool activities

Registration  for clubs, study hall and child care will be open Aug 21 until Sept 3. Study Hall and child care will begin on August 29th,  Clubs will begin the week of September 9th.

There is no in house cafeteria service at Rochambeau. Students must bring their lunch (nut free); or Rollingwood and Forest campus students can pre-order from one of the two delivery services organized by PAR (Rochambeau Parent Association). 



Attendance is a very important part of your student's success. Regular attendance and punctuality is expected from all students.

In the case of an unforeseen absence or tardiness, parents should notify the school as early as possible:

Upon returning to school and for planned absences, the student should bring a note signed by the parents or legal guardian. Make sure to notify the Student Life Office (vie scolaire) or your child's teacher of an absence in advance.

Parking and Traffic

For the safety of our students, please drive carefully on our campuses and respect procedures for access and parking.  Access tags are required for Forest road.

School Supplies and Summer reading

Supplies coming from France for secondary students are available at the Rochambeau Bookstore as of August 27.

School books for secondary students

For maternelle and elementary students: School Books are supplied by the school and distributed by the teachers. 

For students entering 6th to 12th grade, if you ordered your books online, you may pick them up at the bookstore in the small gym in the administrative building as of August 27 between 8:30am and 3:30pm. If you have not ordered your books, please contact Magda Salman to discuss options.

English books: English books can now be ordered via MBS Direct  as of August 1st for students who have received their placement levels.

New students: (except beginners ESL, or those students who have received their placement level): please wait for the first week of school to order your English books.

Pronote - Online Academic Information | Secondary School

Pronote is the online student information system in secondary school. It is the easiest way for parents to follow their student's academic progress, access homework assignments, and contact teachers.

School Buses and Shuttles

If you reserved transportation before July 6, pick up points and routes will be communicated mid August by email.   Please expect delays during the first weeks of school.  

Any daily change in your child's transportation needs to be communicated by email at before noon.

Parent Association of Rochambeau | PAR

PAR is the school’s parent association. PAR serves as an important liaison between the parents and the school administration, namely via the network of room parents (parents relais and parents délégués) who will be selected at the first parent teacher meeting of the year. PAR organizes several committees and events during the year. It provides services to parents such as the yearbook, the sale and distribution of sandwiches and lunches and a 15% reduction at the YMCA. Finally, PAR contributes financially to certain school projects and teachers’ projects.
