It is the intent of Rochambeau, the French International School to provide a safe environment for all students, faculty, staff and visitors. The safety and security of Rochambeau’s physical space and assets is a shared responsibility of all members of Rochambeau community. It is the policy of Rochambeau that access to the School’s facilities is controlled in order to prevent and/or limit potential loss.
The campus of Forest Road and Bradley will now be totally fenced in and have restricted access for visitors.
For more information:
To access the Forest Road campus to drop off or pick up your child(ren), you must request an access badge: TAG Request
The car tag will be sent to your home.
What if I have an appointment with a teacher?
During school hours, you may use the intercom system located on each gate to communicate to the receptionist your name and purpose of your visit. The receptionist will remotely unlock the gate for your entry. After school hours, the teacher you are meeting must meet you at the gate.
Are there any special procedures for exit?
Exiting is possible at all times using the “push bar” on the pedestrian gates.
My child has afterschool activities that conclude after 5:30. Where to I meet my child?
Parents should use the parking lot on Access Road, with entry to that parking lot available from Montgomery Drive. Students will then exit the campus using the pedestrian gates that lead to that parking lot. (See map.)
In case of special events in the evenings or on weekends, how will I access the school?
While security for our community is a top priority, we value the opportunity to welcome visitors for our many special events (BBQ, Winter Fair, Talent Show, Spring Fair, etc.). During scheduled special events the school will program the gates to allow access for visitors.
Will the same kind of gate and fence be used at the Rollingwood campus?
Since Rochambeau rents the Rollingwood campus from Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), there are limitations on what structures we may install at that site. We have made repeated, frequent requests to MCPS but those have been declined. However, to ensure security, we will maintain electronic access controls on all the exterior building entrances/exits. We will also continue to employ personnel who are responsible for observing the students and a visual inspection the facility surroundings.
