Community Service refers to service that a person performs for the benefit of the broader community. By planning, implementing, and reflecting on your service, you will develop your sense of civic engagement.
You can get involved in local associations and other non-profit organizations. You will need to submit a DOCUMENTATION FORM upon completion. This form needs to be returned to the community service coordinator in a timely manner.
The documentation forms will be part of your Citizenship Portfolio that will follow you throughout your schooling. A Certificate of Community Service will be issued at the end of 9th grade (3e). Additional service will be recorded as it is submitted. The Office of US Orientation will highlight your community service in their letters of recommendation sent as part of the college application process.
