This association sponsors a variety of student-led activities designed to promote student engagement and awareness concerning diversity and empathy towards others. Changemakers also organize TED Talks, mindfulness activities, and guest speakers throughout the year for middle and high school students.

Toiletry Drive

Students bring toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, and soap and drop them off in bins in their classrooms. This drive benefits the homeless people in our community through Bethesda Cares, a non-profit organization. In order to collect a large number of articles, the toiletry drive is a competition between classes in one grade. Donate so you can win a dessert party for your class!

Le but de cette association, c’est de rendre la physique ludique, fun dans un environnement relax de découverte.

Savez-vous où commence et où finit l’univers ? Qui a t’il au-delà de notre univers ? Des univers parallèles ? Ses fins potentielles ? Comment une particule peut elle être à plusieurs endroits en même temps ? Et saviez vous qu’un fluide peut être liquide et subitement solide ?

Si vous voulez en savoir plus sur les forces, l'énergie, et les lois qui gouvernent notre monde, et sur les questions toujours sans réponse, ce club est pour vous.

Sur le programme confinement, le club organisera des activités à la maison (créer des fluides non newtonien, des conférences en ligne sur de divers sujets, des discussions avec des astrophysiciens professionnels, l’organisation de soirées virtuelles de films en lien avec le sujet, des simulations virtuelles d'expériences, etc.).

Sur le plan retour au lycée, les activités planifiées seront plus interactives : comme construire une chambre à brouillard, qui peut repérer les trajectoires de particules minuscules qu’on pourra photographier, la construction de mini fusées, des événements d’observation astrologiques, des soirées film à thème, etc. Le but est de créer des expériences qualitatives et captivantes et surtout de ne pas créer une atmosphère scolaire, mais plutôt une autre vision de la science.

R.E.S.O. means Rochambeau Environmental Student Organization.

Bring awareness of the causes of climate change, participate in multiple national recycling rallies and contribute to environmental projects offered in Montgomery County. One of the long term goals as student ambassadors is to help pass legislation in Maryland, protect the environment, and reduce carbon emissions/waste.

RochamSport aims to promote and encourage attendance at high school sports events. By documenting games and sharing photos and videos with the school’s communications staff and community, Rochamsport become sports ambassadors. In addition to assisting events, Rochamsport mobilizes support for a sports equipment and clothing drive to benefit disadvantaged students in Haiti : Goals HAITI.

Students 4 Syria & Lebanon

To raise awareness within the school community of the refugee crisis in Syria and in Lebanon. This new organization is preparing to sponsor a “Backpack Donation” campaign in an effort to raise money for refugees living in Lebanon. The club recently sponsored a guest speaker, Olivier Decottignies from the French Embassy in Iran, to visit Rochambeau and share his experiences in Syria. This club is a spinoff of the Learnserve organization which offers high school students cultural immersion opportunities in a variety of countries around the world.
