Le 4 juin 2026, des élèves de 4e du programme SIA English ont participé à l’inauguration de leur exposition Footsteps Toward Freedom: Honoring Local Lives au musée Josiah Henson, situé sur Old Georgetown Road à Bethesda. Dans le cadre de ce projet, ils ont conçu une exposition artistique ainsi qu’un site web afin de rendre hommage à des personnes dont l’histoire a souvent été oubliée, mais qui ont vécu dans cette région.
L’exposition rejoindra la collection permanente du musée et sera accessible au public jusqu’en septembre 2026. Allez y jeter un oeil cet été !
On June 4, 2026, some of the 8th graders in SIA English attended the opening of their exhibit "Footsteps Toward Freedom: Honoring Local Lives" at the Josiah Henson Museum on Old Georgetown Road.
They created an artistic exhibit and a website to celebrate the lives of those whom history has forgotten, individuals who once walked right where we live.
The exhibit will become part of the museum's permanent collection and will be available for viewing through September, 2026. Go check it out this summer!
