Student Leadership

Student leadership plays a vital role in encouraging a positive, engaged, and responsible school community. It empowers students to develop confidence, communication skills, and a strong sense of civic responsibility, while giving them a meaningful voice in school life.

At Rochambeau, students have several opportunities to take on leadership roles, including serving as class delegates in both Primary and Secondary School, as well as participating in the CVC (Middle School Council) and the CVL (High School Council) in Secondary School. These structures encourage active participation, collaboration, and shared responsibility within the school community.

Conseil de Vie Collegienne

The CVC (Conseil de Vie Collegienne) is the Council of Middle School Student Representatives. It is composed of 12 elected Middle School students (6th to 9th grade), Director of the Secondary School, Head of the Vie Scolaire, teachers, and sometimes, a parent volunteer.

Role of the CVC:

Formulating opinions and proposals regarding daily life in Middle School
Participating in institutional decision-making processes (such as the Conseil d'Etablissement)
Supporting and participating in school-wide events, activities, and community initiatives, helping to foster a positive and engaged school environment.
Taking initiative in suggesting projects or improvements that benefit the broader school community, and collaborate with staff and peers to help bring these ideas to fruition.

Conseil de Vie Lyceenne

The CVL (Conseil de Vie Lycèenne) is the Council of High School Student Representatives. This council is composed of 10 student representatives (elected for a 2 year period) with 10 "alternates", the Director of the Secondary School, Head of the Vie Scolaire, teachers, and sometimes, a parent volunteer.

Role of the CVL:

Formulating opinions and proposals regarding daily life in High School
Participating in institutional decision-making processes (such as the Conseil d'Etablissement)
Supporting and participating in school-wide events, activities, and community initiatives, helping to foster a positive and engaged school environment.
Taking initiative in suggesting projects or improvements that benefit the broader school community, and collaborate with staff and peers to help bring these ideas to fruition.

Elementary class delegates

Each Elementary class has 2 elected delegates.

The delegates meet once a period with the directors.

The purpose of these meetings is to raise ideas or concerns emerging from the conseils de classe and to contribute to improving the overall school environment. Suggestions address matters relevant to the life of the entire Elementary School, rather than classroom-specific issues that can be resolved directly with the teacher.
Delegates take responsibility for, or actively participate in, the organization of various Primary School events and projects, including assemblies.
Among the Cycle 3 delegates (CM1 and CM2), three “super delegates” are elected. These students have the opportunity to meet with the Secondary School delegates, as well as with M. Jacquenet, M. Vanhille, and Mme Fabre.
In parallel to these elections, eco-delegates will also be elected in CM1 and CM2 to participate in the Rochambio project.

Secondary Class Delegates

Each Secondary class has 2 elected delegates along with 2 alternates.

Role of Secondary school class delegates:

Participate in the conseil de classe three times per year
Attend the quarterly conseil de classe meetings to represent the class and to contribute constructively to discussions about the students' overall progress and well-being.
Represent the students of their class
Serve as the official spokesperson for their classmates, ensuring that student perspectives are respectfully and accurately communicated to teachers and school leadership.
Raise questions, concerns, or suggestions affecting the class
Gather feedback from classmates and bring forward relevant issues, ideas, or proposals that concern the class as a whole, rather than individual matters.
Propose and help develop projects
Take initiative in suggesting projects or improvements that benefit class life or the broader school community, and collaborate with staff and peers to help bring these ideas to fruition.
